Hi, I’m Tim and I’m an artist based in San Francisco.
Making art, especially painting, puts me in my preferred posture for curious observation of our human experience and the natural and constructed worlds that hold it. Ultimately I aspire for these observations to lead to work that resonates with contemporary audiences by expressing what it feels like to be alive today.
These days, I’m particularly interested in exploring themes of embodiment and disembodiment in the information age. The gravitational pull toward the infinite possibilities of the internet leaves us paradoxically isolated from one another and estranged from our own physical reality. How has an undeniable abundance of virtual connection influenced our sense of self, of community? What is the value of presence in the natural world as more and more of our personal, professional, and social realities shift online?
